about RAWcycles

Eastablished in 2015 RAWcycles is friendly family run business aimed at helping you make the most of your cycling experiences.

RAWcycles offers bespoke guided rides to individuals, families or groups, on or off-road, day or night; and cycling breaks in the beautiful Dorset and Isle of Purbeck countryside. Breaks include rides guided by our expert local cycling instructors and accommodation can be varied  (from the comfort of a luxury hotel, a rural cosy B&B or a self catering mobile home) depending on your budget.

Passionate about what we do & how we do it, RAWcycles

is driven (or should that be ridden) to:

  • be friendly and approachable

  • offer quality professional services

  • be reliable and trustworthy

  • ensure we are environmentally responsible

With these values, RAWcycles believe in being the kind of company that you would want to do business with; and as fellow active cyclists, you have our absolute commitment that you will be fully satisfied with RAWcycles.

Cycling is my passion: when I'm not riding, I'm probably watching bike racing on TV or at an organised event. If not, I'm probably fettling with a bike, stripping it down and rebuilding it, riding on the rollers in the conservatory or surfing the internet to find the latest upgrade or repair for that persistent problem.

I've been riding a bike ever since I can remember. As a young child in my school years and then as a teenager, I would regularly take my Rayleigh Chopper to pieces just to find out how it worked. Much to mum's despair, I also repaired bikes for friends and neighbours in dad's garage; and as I grew older, the Chopper was replaced by a racing bike, and this spent as much time in pieces as it did on the road! As I entered adulthood friends, family and work colleagues would regularly bring bikes to me to repair, straighten or re-build; and it is this passion that has grown as my own family moved from kids trailer to child seat, tag-along and now to their own bikes.

My passion for cycling has also dictated my choice of bikes. As well as a run of the mill Trek mountain bike and a Giant OCR racing bike (both which I used around town), I also own a Wilier Zero 9 road bike and two two ex-professional team bikes - a Giant TCR road bike in full ONCE yellow/black/grey colours and a Whyte 29-C Team mountain bike. These are my babies and I can regularly be seen riding them around Dorset where these beauties are completely at home.

When I am not cycling, I'm in my garage re-cycling timber and other re-claimed products to make bespoke gifts and garden items for sale.
